When you create a character for role-play on this forum you, as a user, commit to certain rules and responsibilities. These rules have been set in place to ensure the general forum rules are followed and that no misuses of characters or roleplays occur.[/b]
Of course, the administrators shall abide by the same rules as the rest of the community! So if you as a member ever feel that an administrator has abused these rules, feel free to contact another admin and the matter will be dealt with!
If you have feedback and/or suggestions please post these in the Suggestions forum.
Rules may be altered or changed. If this occurs, members will be notified in the News forum.
Without prior notice the administrators can (and most likely will) close a thread were a non-accepted character is participating. There is but one exception to this rule and that is in the case of NPCs. An NPC is a temporary character that is needed for a short duration or to advance that particular part of the story. The administrators will judge subjectively on how to apply this rule on a case to case basis. The thread where the unaccepted character is being used will remain locked until that particular profile is accepted, or, if the rest of the participants wants, reopened without said character.
[¤] It is your responsibility as a player to ensure that you are well read on facts, basic rules and the current happenings of our roleplaying world.
The Administrators will not accept characters that do not take the structures of Shangrila into consideration. It is allowed to transgress or bend the structures with your character, but if you choose to create a “black sheep” it must be well motivated. That will most likely put more pressure on you as a player.
[¤] The administrators have the right to question the player about their characters before and after accepting a profile.
Although those cases are extremely rare, this rule has been set to ensure that players have the correct factual knowledge to play the role they have chosen to play.
[¤] The character you play has to be your own OC (Original character), created by you (or someone you have permission from), or a canon character.
This means that you will not be accepted if you opt to play an already existing character, fictional or otherwise. Neither are you allowed to create a character that is so close in resemblance to another existing being (also fictional or otherwise) that the plagiarism is readily apparent. It's okay to take inspiration, and having the inspiration very apparent, but don't copy-paste! The administrators will apply this rule on a case to case basis, judging subjectively whether the profile in question is intended as a reproduction of someone that already exists, or not. This also applies to ripping other people's profiles, or using Wikipedia text for backgrounds.[/ul][/blockquote]
