About the Anubis
This is a name that many of the Shangrilan people have heard of, but the organization has rarely been seen. They’re the secret police of Shangrila, the eyes and ears, those who know everything; still, who might be a member and who isn’t remains a mystery. The Jackals, the unofficial nickname for Anubis’ members, might be everyday people, with regular jobs besides their membership, or it might be a special high-quarter somewhere where the Jackals reside.
The Anubis deals with protection, especially civilian, but also to guard Shangrila from the Wasteland. They’re also responsible for carrying out the appropriate sanction when someone has broken the norms of Shangrila; the Jackals have never been afraid of getting their hands dirty. They’re the police, the secret service, the military and executioner in one. They’ll know, and they’ll come; armed and dressed in black.
Organized in a hierarchy similar the pre-apocalyptic military organizations across the world, the General of Anubis is simply said to be a member of the S.Ins: the minister of law and order.
As no-one knows who is member or not, or where the high-quarters are located, the recruitment progress remains unknown. But maybe it’s as simple as you don’t have to know them: the Anubis knows you.
