Looks
Mr Adler is fairly short by men’s standards, but he makes up for it with a proud, upright posture. He carries himself with sophistication and refinement, which might be the first thing you notice about him from afar. He is not a man to be missed in a crowd, moving as if he owned the world and expects people to move out of his way (which they also do). His body is broad, and thick, but well-muscled, since he’s very narcissistic and spends a lot of time taking care of it by whatever means he can. Though he’s closing in on his fifties, he’s obsessed with looking his best and not letting it take a hold over his body. Perfection is his leading star, and it applies even to his physique. Though one might believe he would be frustrated that his blonde hair is greying at the temples, he actually finds it quite compelling. He takes care to put every last straw of his hair in order every single day, never showing himself in a frazzled state – unless his emotions are so out of control he hasn’t noticed.
The face is a distinct story, marked by the lines of age without actually being heavily wrinkled. From one quick look, it is easy to come to the conclusion that this man rarely smiles and laughs; most creases appear around the areas you use when frowning. Adler always carries a serious expression, and seldom smiles; when he does, it even more rarely reaches his eyes, making him seem virtually humourless. This is not true, however, but no one who knows him would recommend attempting to get a show of what he likes laughing at… The chin is broad and square, his lips thin, and the jaw very distinguished. His nose is also very prominent; it was noble-looking once, but having had it broken when he was younger, it is now slightly crooked and askew. Why he doesn’t fix it is a little bit of a mystery. The eyes are also an interesting, yet strangely scary, feature; they look out from under heavy eyelids, and always have an attentive spark in them, whether he wears his usual stern face or one of surprise. It’s as if he never misses anything going on around him…
Style of Clothing
Dressing to match his view on himself, Adler’s style of clothing is always immaculate. He prefers clean, elegantly cut designs above those bought in general stores, and refuses to buy anything done in a factory. All of his suits are hand-tailored and custom fit for him, and he has his own go-to seamstress for all his stylish needs.
You will hardly ever see him in anything else but a suit. He seldom – if ever – dress casually, and always shows up in a spotless, elegant fashion creation made specifically for him. The suits are never dirty, never wrinkled, and never mismatched colour-wise. He wears them to white or lightly coloured shirts, and shirts, and ties in moderate colours and patterns. Perfection, in everything he does and wears – from the flawlessly tied tie to the polished shoes of faultless quality.
Body Mods and other Distinct Features– Piercings, Tattoos and Scars
A broken nose that has mended a bit crookedly, and a couple of small scars on his fists. Otherwise, he’s intact.

Traits: Arrogant, intelligent, charming, proud, overconfident, narcissistic, temperamental, deceitful, determined, charismatic, dominating, merciless, cruel, sadistic, sharp, refined, perfectionist
Personality
If someone were to describe Victor Adler with one single word, it would be that of “Perfectionist”. He has high standards for himself, as well as for others, and will not tolerate failure in any type or form. He’s narcissistic and extremely proud, and wants his own perception of himself to mirror in everything he does or owns. The house, the wife, his clothes and his job – all of it has to fit in with the picture he wants to get across to the rest of the world. He is a man of refined tastes, and he wants it to be clear for all to see that he is above the rest of the pack; he’s an advanced human, ahead in the evolution, a better person than the rest of the common lot. He holds his mind to equally high standards, believing himself to be far superior to the rest when it comes to imagination, creativity and intelligence. There’s nothing wrong with his self-esteem (except for it being as big as the Milky Ways), and very little on this earth can bring him down from his high horse. For that, his delusions of grandeur are far too big.
Victor Adler is right about himself being a sharp, intellectual man; he is talented within his scientific field, and knows the way forward. However, he is overconfident and constantly over-estimates his own prowess. Blinded by his own (esteemed) glory, he cannot see the forest for all the trees, and often misses important things amongst the tiny little details he obsesses over. His expectations are high, and he does not deal with failure (his own, or that of others) well. Instead of accepting the mistake and moving on, he throws temper tantrum, and it is not unusual that he grows violent. Those who let him down do not last long in his empire, and he is ruthless with dealing with them, as he does not tolerate imperfection in any shape or form – and thus, has no place in his perfect little world for mistakes. This makes him a very hard man to deal with; as long as you are on his good side, he is a man of sophistication and charm. If you rub him the wrong way, though, he will turn hostile and use all the weapons in his arsenal to put you down – permanently. He’s deceitful like that, charismatic and enigmatic one second, vicious and detached the next.
The need to be in control is a leading feature in this S.in Official. He will not accept a slave’s collar, and will do all in his power to dominate those around him; be it with seemingly kind deeds – for a price – or pure, brutal force. This is important to note, since control over the situation also means control over himself. In Victor Adler, the pride and arrogance is deeply seethed and his temper horrible, but he does excess some control over himself. Thus, if you do wrong by him in a situation where reacting and acting immediately upon his first, violent whim might put him in a bad light (the image, remember?), he can and will restrain himself. At least until he can find a proper situation where he can strike you down, hard and cruelly, with all the glee dominating awakens within him.

Favorite Thing: An insignificant briefcase of unknown content
Accessories: Jewellery is a feminine thing to wear, but that doesn’t hinder Victor Adler from sporting expensive cufflinks or expensive rings. Mostly his garnishing consists of equally expensive ties… so long as it’s classy, he can wear it, and he owns far too many accessories to list here.
Weapons: Owns a couple of guns that he has stashed in various places of the house – for protection…
Important Belongings: His house, and all within its’ walls. Adler is an appreciator of beautiful things, and everything from his china ware to his paintings is valued to extremely high prizes. He would notice the slightest of change, since they are all dear to him, even though he views himself as one standing above sentiments.
Pets and Animals: Animals are pests and should be kept on a leash, if at all. Thus, pets are out of the question.

Place Of Birth: Eden, Shangrila
Family: Mother, Caroline, and father, Alphonse, both deceased; wife, Lynette
Old Friends, Lovers and Other Relationships: Has been a childhood friend of both Karl Ericsson and Emerich Meier; no other old relationships of note
Background:
Victor Adler’s parents met while his father Alphonse attended a university in America in the late eighties; he was to be a surgeon, and Caroline was studying to be a nurse. The two found each other through the mentoring programme. She helped him get better acquainted with America, and he – being from Austria – taught her of the traditions of his home country. Four years later, as he was finishing up his education to go back, she followed him, and together they opened a private clinic where he gave plastic surgery to those with the money to pay. The clinic grew popular, one lead to the other, and in the end they opened a chain of clinics under the umbrella company name of Eagle Industries. Things went smoothly, and they quickly won customers in high places all over the globe.
The business were a success, they had a constant flow of customers, and they were just negotiating with a certain Mr Levine concerning having one of their clinics in his new resort, when war struck. Their friend made sure they got to Australia to hide with him, and the Adler couple readily accepted his offer, believing the war would end soon so they could start rebuilding. As we know, the war did not end in a good way, and they were never to leave Shangrila again. So they established their clinic in the city and built upon that instead, maintaining their wealth and growing. A house in the district of Elysia was bought, and they made themselves at home.
In the spring of 2015, a baby was born to the now aging pair. Alphonse and Caroline, having been concerned with who was to take over their small yet successful corporation, saw baby Victor as their heir – a perfect solution to their problems. He was spoiled, of course, and quickly realized that whatever he wanted or could wish for, he would get if only he demanded it. Being clever, the boy used his wits to manipulate his surroundings, and quickly lost his temper if he was not satisfied. His temper tantrums were generally accepted by his parents – they were seldom victims, and thought their precious little angel could do no wrong.
Growing up, Victor often played with children his age and class. Due to a connection between the Adler family and the Ericsson-Meier one, he was soon introduced to year-older Karl, whom he constantly attempted to dictate over. Karl, being a tolerant and kind child, tolerated the younger boy’s demands with sighs. The pair never grew close, but their parent’s friendship made sure that Victor Adler met a certain person later, with who he would share most of his visions and thoughts. But that is skipping ahead.
In school, Victor was a dominant, yet intelligent student. His grades were extremely good, though he was lacking in the social skills area. He seldom left space for other children to grow and learn, but he was always sharp and took a great pleasure out of answering correctly. Unfortunately, he was very pushy and strong-minded, turning him into an ideal bully. Of course, parents were alerted but nothing was ever done about his attitude, neither towards the classmates nor his teacher. Since his parents were in a powerful position, and friends of the Levine family, he was virtually untouchable, and the young boy was quick to take his powerful position to heart and put it to good use for his own personal needs.
Nothing changed over the course of elementary and high school. Victor Adler matured slightly, but maintained his dominant nature and his arrogant attitude. He learned to control himself a bit, though, and by the time it was time for him to move onto university, his parents had at least managed to teach the young man a few lessons in manners. He was much more charming, witty and enigmatic than he’d ever been in his younger days, dragging attention and gaining many contacts – no friends, just contacts, to use at his own disposure. Like his father, Victor was interested in the sciences, and aimed at being a surgeon at first, but after having finished half of his second semester, he grew tired of it all and switched into biology. Perhaps researching was more suiting for his brilliantegointellect.
In 2034, he met a certain girl named Lynette Cadenza in one of his classes, and the two of them soon became an item. Lynette was from a fairly good background, but her family had fallen on bad luck and she was desperate for a way to straighten up her family name. With that in mind, she thought Victor to be a perfect match, believing that the Adler family assets perhaps could help her down-run family name. When she realized what sort of ruthless man Victor really was behind all his charm and intelligence, it was already too late to break up without losing face. Some threats from the proud, narcissistic man might have something to do with it… In either case, they got engaged in 2038 and Lynette moved into Victor’s apartment never to be seen or heard from individually again.
At the university, Victor also ran into the younger of the Ericsson-Meier brothers, Emerich, as he started his studies there, and the two found each other in a way he and Karl never had. Victor and Emerich thought alike in another way, and took a liking to one another. Their friendship would prove mutually beneficial. As the elder of the two’s graduation ceremony crept closer, they swore not to lose contact. Soon enough, Victor Adler would appreciate that oath, because Emerich had something he would need…
With a Masters degree in Genetics and Biotechnology, Victor Adler graduated in spring of 1940, 25 years old, and soon found a work at GEF (Genetic Engineering Facility), where he begun as a trainee. Soon enough, however, mainly due to his father’s influence, he managed to land himself the position of a new project, which he named “Cerberus”, after the hell hound in Greek mythology. The project’s was a collaboration between the GEF and the DPDC (Department of Psychological Development and Conditioning), which goal was to see if it was possible to manufacture certain traits in human children by manipulating the parents’ genome and fuse it with isolated genetic material from other sources. On top of that, it was highly controversial, using techniques from before the war had been deemed highly unethical, and which had been refined over the course of three decades. Fit Victor Adler like a glove! He set to work with preparations, determined to succeed, and spent days on end at the office, obsessed with his work.
In 2043, they were ready to test the new treatment. Borrowing his friend Emerich’s secretary, Adler was eager to start. In July the following year, the project paid off as the secretary bore the scientists three healthy babies to study. The rest of the scientific community was still sceptical, but at least he was heard of – not just another anonymous white-coated John Dove!
2044 was also the year his parents passed away at old age. The mother died first, the father quickly followed, and a remarkably remorseless Victor found himself the sole heir to the small empire Eagle Industries had grown into. With his hands full both with his scientific progress and the plastic surgery business on the side, the man found himself neck-deep in success, money and work. Things couldn’t look better for him, and he found his parents’ passing not a loss, but a blessing in disguise.
With the success of the project and his business, Adler finally married Lynette in 2046 as a part of his new and improved image. Little is known of what the bride thought of it, but she showed up to the wedding and is rumoured not to have spoken to anyone at the reception afterwards. Afterwards, very little has been seen of her; she shows up on pictures from time to time, but only in the company of her husband. Being a married man, Adler could settle down and focus on what was really important – his career, and his reputation.
When the project thesis phase of Cerberus was done in 2049, the children were outsourced and a study phase began. In this year, the owner of the female having given birth to the subjects once again stepped in – this time in order to write a paper on the findings – and Adler was delighted to see Emerich again. The man had decided to take the path of Psychology, one Adler wasn’t familiar with, and they decided to collaborate on the rest of the project. Soon enough, with time spent in the company of one another, the two found a deeper level of trust, and commenced an (not so secret) affair. Rather spending time with his colleague, Victor Adler rarely slept at home, but spent his time at Emerich’s.
Four years later, Project Cerberus finally received the recognition as a success and great breakthrough, and Victor Adler could bask in the glory of his success. It, of course, dragged a lot of attention to him, including that of the founder of Shangrila (and owner of one of the specimens), Oscar Levine. It wasn’t before long that the two colleagues were called to Mr Levine’s office to discuss the project. He was happy with their success and their brilliance, and offered them jobs. Adler was very pleased to receive news that he would be the leader of GEF from now on, and even more pleased when he – a year later – was offered the position of S.in Minister of Science.
Unfortunately, the new sprout of success came with a price. For four years, the arrogant man had to put up with his new boss hanging over his shoulder all the time, watching his every move in order to make sure that he did his work correctly. It took all the focus Adler had to not explode out of sheer frustration, and so their relation quickly grew tense. The situation took its strain on the man, used to having things done his way, and he started to once again spend more time at home in order to… relax… between the strenuous work of pleasing Mr Levine, and the boring procedure it was to keep Eagle Industries running and successful. Convinced his luck had changed, Adler was thus pleasantly surprised when his annoying boss decided to leave his side in 2057, completely entrusting him the position as lead scientist and in charge of the research in the city. Even more so, when Oscar dropped yet another opportunity in his lap; if he studied the subject, he could be offered a position as Minister of Education as well. Tempted by the power and authority the new title would offer, and too much of a workaholic to care if it would put more stress on him, Victor Adler accepted the challenge… and thrived in it, once again in his right element.
Today, he is a sharp businessman, done with his studies and filling up the shoes of all his responsibilities perfectly. Like the rest of the S.in Officials, he has moved to Elysia, where he resides in a luxurious mansion and lives the pleasurable life he, deep down, has always known that he deserves. He is still following his pet project closely, checking up on the subjects from time to time, but is not afraid to start any new assignments or toss around new ideas. Forever on the move, Victor Adler is a real S.in. force to be reckoned with.
